Event Article: 2006 ISE Show - San Mateo

The ISE celebrates its 30 year anniversary in style by showcasing new tackle in San Mateo, CA (continued)

Scientific Anglers cont'd: Lets step back for a minute. The reason that SA developed the system in the first place was to address the number one reason gripe of fly fisherman....the knots. By making it easy to put on leaders SA is helping anglers that have difficulty tying knots to focus more on the actual fishing. The original system made it easy to put on a leader but when you were done you really had no choice but to cut off the leader as the sections could not separate. The new LTL Reconnect system is now completely reusable, and because it can easily be swapped out it opens the doors for other possibilities as well. The new system allows anglers to change leader weights or even go to a sinking tip. This essentially allows you to adapt to changing conditions quickly and easily, which means "less time fussing and more time fishing." As a added plus the reconnect doubles as the worlds most stealthy strike indicator. Genius.

The new system can be switched out on the fly (no pun intended)

Each leader features a color coded connector, simply twist on and the unit locks itself

Also at the booth was the custom tip express which allows anglers to "cut-to-fit" their application

John Stark and John Mazurkiewicz showed us an assortment of exciting fly products now available for the 2006 season

Conclusion: We just weren't sure what to expect with the ISE show so close to the Fred Hall, but the tackle manufacturers pulled out all the stops and managed to bring out very exciting new products, revolutionary solutions, and some killer deals. The ISE is just one of those "can't miss" shows for any tackle junkie, and the show celebrated it's 30 year anniversary in style, with plenty of manufacturers and countless enthusiastic outdoor loving attendees coming out for the party.
