13 Fishing’s
Trick Shop is Open for Customization

Price
& Applications: While 13 Fishing has certainly made it easier to modify your
reel to such a great extent than any other reel manufacturer to date, some of
the upgrades are still best employed by anglers that are more comfortable with
reel maintenance or enjoy tinkering. 13 Fishing has tried to make things as easy
as possible by also adding
online videos that walk anglers through the upgrades. Just a word of caution, if you do not
approach the integration of the components carefully it is possible to damage
your original reels.
Talk about details. The Trick Shop
even has Line Guide Caps for $6.49 each
For example the first time
we put together a test reel we used a screwdriver that was too large and ended
up scratching both the reel and the anodized line cap. In another instance we
almost lost the spring loaded audible clicker in the drag star when transferring
the tiny component from the stock dragstar to the new brightly colored one.
Breaking down a Concept C reel for
customization
For those anglers that want to change out “everything” 13 Fishing offers
complete “Concept Reel Parts Kits” which retail for $84.99 each. These come with
clever themed kits like the red, silver and blue “Patriot” kit, the red and
black “Demon” kit and the hilariously named blinged out “Goldigger” kit.
Time to integrate the "Patriot"
kit
Those anglers looking to mod their reel to a lesser extent can easily just
change out a handle and matching spool and cast control knob and yet still have
a reel that looks very personalized. An implementation like this will cost
$29.99 for the handle assembly, $31.99 for the spool assembly and $7.99 for the
matching cast control knob. All of this adds up to only $69.97 to put your very
own signature look together.
Now that is a patriotic looking
reel!
The Trick Shop idea is brilliant, it is not only fun and exciting for existing
owners of 13 Fishing reels to be able to customize their reels but makes the
Concept Series more desirable for anglers that haven’t even purchased one yet.
The colored components change the
whole look and feel of the Concept C, giving it a lot of personality
