Lines and Increases Visibility for 2021
Introduction: Some fishing line manufacturers specialize or offer better product in one line category versus another. Few, as far as we are concerned, hit the mark with a noteworthy product in each and every category, braid, fluorocarbon, nylon monofilament. Sunline is one of these triple crown line manufacturers so it's always interesting to see what they have cooking at ICAST.
Sunline introduces a high grade Nylon Leader
Nylon Leader : The leader game in bass fishing has really picked up steam over the last couple of years as anglers realize the benefit of having a braid mainline with different leader materials to suit specific applications. Braid allows you to store more line on your reel, has no stretch for surer hooksets, and also affords you very good sensitivity when fishing tight line applications. Sunline's new Nylon Leader material is specifically designed to serve as a leader and top shot design offering reduced water absorption over standard nylon lines while delivering the shock absorption to help counter the no stretch qualities of a braid mainline. Sunline's Nylon Leader is available immediately in strengths of eight through sixteen pounds (8-16lbs) in fifty yard (50yd) spools for an MSRP of $6.99 per spool.
Night FC gets a new Hi-Vis color
HiVis Night FC : Because not everyone can have a set up just for fishing in the dark, Sunline's popular Night FC gets an unexpected boost this year to increase visibility not just at night, but during the day too. The new Hi-Visible Yellow Night FC is easy to see during daylight hours and shines even brighter at night than the original under the influence of a black light. It comes in the same 165yd spool as the original and in strengths from twelve through twenty five pounds (12 to 25lbs). Retail is set at $21.99 per spool and is available right now at TackleWarehouse.
Super Natural gets a new Hi-Vis Color
Super Natural Hi Vis Orange : Sunline's Super Natural nylon monofilament has been a staple in my testing regime since its official review back in 2016. Its combination of affordability, handling, true diameters and more are reasons it continues to be among my favorites to spool onto my reels. This year, Sunline introduces a high vis color to the line but instead of going with the usual yellow or chartreuse, they're making it in high vis orange.
Siglon PE gets a new formulation, ADV
Siglon PE ADV: Siglon has always been a more specialized, JDM, finesse brand of braid for Sunline. Their new formulation for this line, PE ADV, features a special manufacturing technique, DRT (deep resin technology) where the manufacturer embeds resin deeper into the PE fibers making the line smoother therefore increasing handling through your guides. it is a small diameter line with high tensile strength and resistance to abrasion. It will be available in spools of 165 yards, strengths between eight to thirty five pounds (8-35lbs), and carry with it an MSRP of $29.99 per spool.
