Rapala Keeps Things Lively for 2021
- Launches Rap-V Blade
Having recently discovered the BX Big Brat squarebill crank, while browsing TackleWarehouse.com, I was a little anxious to see what Rapala had cooking for this coming year so I wouldn't be late to the game should they bring to market an equaling intriguing product. While the brand's introductions for the coming year felt somewhat conservative, there were a couple of products that caught my eye.
Look! It's a blade crank! It's a lipless crank. No, it's Rapala's
Rapala's new Rap-V Blade features a hybrid metal frame of a traditional metal framed blade crankbait with a polycarbonate body similar to a lipless crank.
The new Ra-V Blade
is built to have the instant start up vibration of a blade crank with the rattling sound of a lipless crank. When combined, the action and sound produced by the Rap-V is unlike any bait currently on the market and sure to induce a reaction from any predatory species within lateral line shot.
The V Blade measures two and a half inches (2.5") in length and is available in sixteen (16) different colors. Retail price is set for $8.99 per bait with pre-order available right now from TackleWarehouse. In stock delivery is expected by the beginning of August.
The OG Slim 6 is straight out of Ott Defoe's Garage
OG Slim 6: Ott Defoe is currently one of the fastest rising stars in professional bass fishing circles. Winner of the 2019 Bassmaster Classic Championship, this 34 year old phenom has truly made a name for himself. Rapala infiltrated his garage to discover a flat sided crank he'd been working on and decided to give it a more public spotlight. The OG (Ott's Garage) Slim 06 Crankbait is a two and three quarters of an inch (2.75") balsa wood crank taht swims with a medium wobble with tight, side-to-side action. It is equipped with a circuit board diving lip, and two VMC Black Nickel 1x Strong Hybrid Treble Hooks. It is specified at half an ounce (1/2oz) in weight and six feet (6') in diving depth. Retail is $9.99 for this bait with 14 colors all available for preorder right now at TackleWarehouse (expected December arrival).
