ICAST 2011 Coverage

ICAST 2011 : New Cranks from Spro & Overseas News (continued)

Big Daddy 70: Another bait that was supposed to have been kept quiet until ICAST, but was leaked this past Spring was Russ Lane's new crank, the Big Daddy 70. Designed as a medium diving (10-12), wide wobbling and rolling crank, the Big Daddy 70 is intended to bring shallow water crank action down deep. It is a silent running bait and is expected to be released in August, and retail for $11.99 per bait.

The Big Daddy 70 will be available in 8 different colors including, from top to bottom, Tropical Shad, Lavender Shad, and Nasty Shad.

It's a silent, medium running crank (10-12 feet) with a wide wobbling and rolling action.

Lipped BBZ-1 Shad: We also managed to catch up with Bill Siementel at the Spro booth where he shared with us the story of designing and building a bait for the European Market. Yes, there will soon be a lipped version of his BBZ-1 Shad, only, we won't see it here in the States. No, this bait was designed entirely for Europe.

The lipped BBZ-1 is new for Spro ...

... but it is being designed and built for the European fishing market only!

A bait designed in the United States with no plans to be sold here? Siementel says yes!

Conclusion: Whether for the US Market or worldwide, Spro continues to bring to market very compelling hard bait products. We look forward to getting some of these baits into HQ and on our list of future baits for review.
