St. Croix's Popular Mojo Bass Gets Glass, and Greener

Date: 7/9/19
Location: Orlando, FL
Admission: Buyers & Press Only
Manufacturer: St. Croix
Reviewer: Cal

Introduction:
While the majority of fishing rod manufacturers in the bass fishing space battle to leap frog one another in high-end graphite blank technology and marketing terms, this year St. Croix has taken a different tactic. Leveraging the success over the last couple of years with their Legend Glass series, the manufacturer is now trickling down that tech to a more budget friendly series of sticks for moving baits. Introducing St. Croix's Mojo Bass Glass series.

Mojo Bass gets a series of glass cranking sticks

Mojo Bass Glass: St. Croix's new Mojo Bass Glass series features five (5) models (4 casting, 1 spinning) and are built with premium, 100% linear S-glass using the company's integrated Poly Curve (IPC) mandrel technology. The five rod models are offered to cover a range of techniques from target cranking, to chatterbaits and rattlebaits, to plus-sized crankbaits, to of course, multi-purpose cranking.

Each rod is finished with a new, Mojo Green Metallic paint

Each of these new Mojo Bass Glass rods finished with a new, Mojo Green Metallic paint, a split rear grip made of cork, Fuji reel seats with black hoods, Kigan Master Hand 3D guides with aluminum oxide rings and black frames, and a Kigan hook keeper.

In addition, St. Croix backs each Mojo Bass Glass rod with a five year warranty. The lengths, actions, and aesthetic of the Mojo Bass Glass series were designed in Park Falls, Wisconsin and the rods are handcrafted at company's facility in Fresnillo, Mexico.

There will be a total of 5 models, 4 casting and 1 spinning

There's nothing like the buttery smooth action of a well designed glass cranking stick. It is still my preferred material for deep diving plugs. It's refreshing to see a complete lineup of glass sticks targeting specific application from a large, well established company like St. Croix. I was already a fan of the Legend Glass series, so I find the Mojo Bass Glass is quite intriguing.
