PowerPro Shines Bright - Moon Shine Braid Wins Best of Show in Line Category

Date: 7/11/19
Location: Orlando, FL
Admission: Buyers & Press Only
Manufacturer: PowerPro
Reviewer: Zander

Introduction: These days half of the rigs I fish with on any given day come loaded with braided line. The applications for superline continue to grow, and with many techniques the strength and handling characteristics simply are unmatched. One area where PowerPro saw room to further innovate was in the realm of night fishing, and using their Super8Slick V2 as a foundation they launched Moon Shine at ICAST, a new line that glows under a black light.

Power Pro's newest braid, Moon Shine, is good in the light and brilliant at night

Shine Bright: PowerPro's Moon Shine braid makes use of a special process making it glow when illuminated by a blacklight, the new PowerPro Moon Shine braid benefits both anglers fishing at night to avoid the summer heat, and the fish they are pursuing. Using Super8Slick V2 braid as its core, the Moon Shine braid is targeted to the growing interest in nighttime bass fishing tournaments taking place most notable in Alabama, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Texas.

With Moon Shine glowing under a blacklight, anglers can see even the smallest line movement and hopefully set the hook more often. At the show Shimano demonstrated this in a blacklight and to say it glows is almost an understatement. Moon Shine lights up intensely like a light saber. The effect is really striking and is as functional as it is just plain cool.

Beyond bass fishing at night the new braid also has other applications including any nighttime action when targeting catfish, muskie trolling and surf casting, and be used during day for those who prefer an easy-to-see high-visibility braid.

The new Moon Shine braided line was so popular that buyers and media at ICAST voted to select it as a Best of Show in the line category. This bright new line is available now from e-tailers including Tackle Warehouse in 8- to 80-pound test in 150 and 300-yard spools aith prices from $20.99 and up, depending on lb. test and spool capacities.
