Gill, founded in 1975 by British Sailor, Nick Gill, is a leading manufacturer in technical marine apparel. Having set their sights on the bass fishing world roughly a decade ago, the company is responsible for innovations like the Vortex Hood. This year, the company didn't have anything quite as revolutionary, but certainly a few items you might want to add to your radar.
new FG100 Jacket
The new Gill FG100 Jacket features the afore mentioned, adjustable Vortex Hood System and 3-Layers of material to provide waterproof warmth while out in the elements. It comes complete with a host of attachment loops, reflective accents, etc., and will be available in two colors. MSRP on the new FG100 Jacket is $349.
Introducing the FG120 Expedition Shorts
FG120 Expedition Shorts: From a new jacket for inclement weather to something for sunnier, warmer days, the FG120 Expedition Short from Gill is made with a patented 4-Way stretch fabric that features UV50+ protection. It has zippered side pockets, a reinforced pliers pocket, angled back pockets for easier access, and a kill cord switch loop. MSRP on the Expedition Shorts is $69.95.
Introducing Gill's Rock Softshell Jacket
Rock Softshell Jacket: Most intriguing to me is the company's new Rock Softshell jacket built with a material that is both hard as a rock, yet soft. Its made with a 2-layer stretch softshell fabric and a durable outer face and hi-loft thermal lining with 7% spandex for added flexibility while casting. The jacket also features
Velcro adjustable cuff, and an adjustable hem and hood so you can tailor your comfort. The Gill Rock
Soft-shell Jacket will be available in sizes XS to XXL and in one color, Ash, for an MSRP of $175.
