Stormr's New Lightweight Garments Protect Anglers From the Sun and Rain

Date: 7/14/16
Location: Orlando, FL
Admission: Buyers & Press Only
Manufacturer: Stormr
Reviewer: Zander

Introduction: STORMR started with neoprene based foul weather gear designed to tackle the toughest conditions including surf and offshore fishing. While those garments were extremely robust they were overkill for certain fishing situations. While there is absolutely a place and time for those jackets and bibs this season Stormr is introduces lighter more packable garments.

New for this season from Stormr, the mid weight AERO Series foul weather gear

AERO-Dynamic: The new AERO Series is a new deep breathing mid-weight, ultra-flexible rain gear system from Stormr. Both the AERO Jacket and Bib are designed to deliver superior comfort and all weather performance without the bulk.

The seams are taped for durability and superior waterproofing

Stormr's exclusive VAPR Tech material not only breathes deeply, it also allows this system to offer a dynamic range of movement. The AERO garments are designed to offer an extended range of motion allowing for freedom of movement in all angling applications.

A look at the bibs, notice the full length zipper

The mid-weight system performs more like a heavy-weight when it comes to severe weather performance. The AERO boasts a 3-layer, DWR treated 20,000mm waterproof and 20,000g/m2 breathable construction. The AERO system has many quality features including YKK AquaGuard® zippers, internal neoprene wrist seals, multiple high volume pockets, articulated adjustable hood, knees and seat, internal waist adjustments, as well as the dependability and durability you demand from all STORMR products. The Stormr Aero Jacket and Bib are coming this Fall and will retail for $299.95 each.

Go Lighter: Looking for a jacket and pants that are even lighter and more packable than the mid-weight Aero? The Nano Shell Jacket is designed to provide anglers and outdoor enthusiasts with the perfect balance of a lightweight, waterproof and breathable outer shell with the superior durability and performance you'd expect from all STORMR products.

Looking for something lighter? Stormr offers the Nano

The Nano Series delivers protection in warm, hot and tropical conditions while at the same time keeping anglers cool and comfortable fishing all day long. The bright styling gives these garments a fresh look and combines the latest advancements in performance fabrics with features that make the Nano series perfect for summers unpredictable and rapidly changing weather conditions.

The Nano Jacket's hood is very light and comfortable

The NANO Series is the perfect garments to pack in your bag when hiking and fishing or to stow in your truck and boat at all times, so your always prepared for the storm. I really like how light the garments feel when worn, and the hood is light and doesn't give you that cave feeling when deployed.

The Nano is all about low weight and performance in warmer fishing conditions so pants are a better choice than bibs

The NANO Series Jacket and Pants are available now from e-tailers and retailers including Tackle Warehouse. They are reasonably priced at $149.95 for the jacket and $99.95 for the pants.

Stormr now offers UV Shield Performance Gear including sun gloves

Shield up: Stormr is also getting into the sun protection game with their UV Shield Performance Gear. Stormr's UV Shield Performance Gear is built to keep you cool, dry, comfortable and shielded from the potentially harmful effects of the sun. This line of UV Shield Performance Gear provides fast moisture transfer and evaporative cooling properties while at the same time blocking potentially harmful exposure to extended periods in the sun helping you defy the elements when things heat up.

Stormr's newest sun shirt offers UV 50+ protection

The Stormr UV Shield Sun Glove is designed with UV 50+ shield that will help protect your hands from harmful UV exposure. The Stormr gloves are lightweight and made with moisture wicking fabric to keep your hands comfortable with a vented palm design and also includes extended cuffs and easy-off pulls, all nice features that make it easy to put these gloves on and stay comfortable fishing all day long. These gloves are becoming available now and retail for $29.95 for a pair.

The Stormr Men's UV Shield Long Sleeve Shirt is available in many vibrant colors

Probably the single most used UV protection garment is the sun shirt, and Stormr introduced their Men's UV Shield Long Sleeve Shirt which are designed to be both comfortable and lightweight. Like the gloves there are made with UV 50+ shield to help block harmful UV rays. The fabric of these shirts is lightweight and also moisture wicking. They are also quick drying, and include vented mesh underarm panels to keep anglers dry and cool cast after cast. They are stain resistant and come in five different colors, some of which are very vibrant. The new shirts are also becoming available now for a price of $34.95 each. Whether your looking to shield yourself from the rain and surf, or wind and sun, Stormr has you covered (literally) with their new lineup of lighter more packable garments.
