Manufacturer: Denali Rods

Denali has slowly and steadily been revamping their rod lineups over the last couple of years. They've continued that trend this year with the refinement of their popular Kovert series of rods and extending their technique specific reach with a series of sticks to support the big bait trend.

Kovert series receives a slight makeover with a 25% weight reduction.

Kovert Lite: It was just three short years ago, in 2013, where we first saw Denali's Kovert line of rods. In that short amount of time, the series has grown to be one of their most popular. Now, by reimaging the entire series, Denali has knocked 25% of the weight out of these rods making them easier to fish, and likely more sensitive than before (lighter rods generally mean better sensitivity). The same fourteen (14) rods are in the lineup (3 spinning, 11, casting) and they will retail for $149.99.

The Kovert series maintains their minimalistic look.

Big bait enthusiasts will be excited over Denali's new Swimbait Series!

Swimbait Series: Brand new for Denali this year is a series of sticks built with the big bait fisherman in mind. There are three (3) rods in this series each measuring seven feet, ten inches (7'-10") in length and varying from medium heavy to heavy to extra heavy in power rating. They are spec'd to throw everything from small, hollow bodied swimbaits on up to big, California style swimbaits weighing up to twelve (12) ounces. They feature double footed guides all the way up the blank for strength and durability, Fuji's ACS reel seat, and split grip handles made of EVA foam. Retail price is expected to be $149.99.

Reel seats are Fuji ACS.

AttaX: Another new line for Denali this year is their value priced AttaX series of rods. Featuring IM7 graphite blanks, stainless steal guides with ceramic inserts, stylized Winn Grips for comfort and maximum tackiness when wet, and skeleton reel seats, the AttaX series will retail for $119.99 per rod (there are 6 rods in the series - 2 spinning, 4 casting).

A new value series from Denali is the AttaX.

These aggressively styled rods feature Winn grips.

Retail on the AttaX series is set for $119.99.

Myriad: The last series that caught our eyes this year in the Denali booth were their brand new Myriad Walleye rods. This is a series of 10 different sticks to support everything from vertical jigging to trolling to cast and retrieve presentations. The rods are built on IM8 graphite blanks and feature semi-micro guides. Retail on each stick is set for $129.99.

Thank you to Scott Estes and Mike Helton for showing us what's new and exciting with Denali!

Conclusion: Denali Rods is being quietly aggressive in the refinement and expansion of their rod series. Lighter, stronger, more versatile seems to be their motto these days and we like what we're seeing out of this small, Arizona based company. Thank you to the team at Denali for showing us what's new and exciting with the company!
