RkStar 55:
Following on the success of the bait he helped design for Spro last year, the RkCrawler 55, BASS Elite Series Angler Mike McClelland wanted to extend the utility of this bait to fish species in the northern part of the country. So they beefed up the RkCrawler with 2x strong hooks, added some brighter colors and voila - the RkStar 55 is born!

The RkCrawler 55 (right) gets a sibling, the RkStar 55 (left).

They're essentially the same bait safe for the 2x strong hooks on the RkStar 55 (right).

What Spro found was the original RkCrawler 55 is such a good, diving bait, it was being used all over the country for species other than bass. So to answer the needs of anglers fishing in the north backtrolling for pike, walleye, lake trout and more, they created the RkStar 55.

And of course the more flamboyant colors.

The RkStar 55 is available in 6 bright colors that McClelland plans to use in his pursuit of big German Brown Trout in his home state of Arkansas once the Elite series tour is over.

These new baits aren't intended for bass, but for bigger, stronger Northern species. McClelland plans to try them against big German Brown trout in the off season.

A Smaller Rodent, the BBZ-1 30 and 40 Rat: While cranking is fun it is hard to argue there is anything more inspiring that a monster topwater strike and this ICAST Spro added new smaller sizes to the BBZ-1 Rat Series.

This season SPRO is introducing two new smaller BBZ Rats

The original BBZ-1 Rat, the creation if legendary lure designer Bill Siementel, has already become a very popular bait among anglers looking for a lifelike rodent imitator that walks the dog easily across the surface. The original 50 sized version while easy to fish was somewhat of an intimidating bait at 10" in length (5.35" without the tail) and weighing in at 2.5oz.

The Chrome Silver should be nicknamed the "Terminator"

Sometimes you don't need a rat, and a mouse will suffice. When fish are looking for a more bite sized bait SPRO is introducing two new lures the BBZ-1 Rat 40 and 30. The 30 size is 6.25" total (3.25" without the tail) and the 40 size is 7.5" total length (4" without the tail), and weigh in at 1/2oz. and 1oz. respectively.

Even the small baits will come with two tail options

These lures are designed to come to life just like their bigger sibling and are also going to be available in some killer new patterns including Nasty Shad and a ultra flashy Chrome Silver. Both of these new BBZ Rats will be available on December 1st for $21.99 for the 30 and $25.99 for the 40 size.

The new smaller BBZ Rats are ideal for situations where bass just want a mouse sized bite!

SPRO continues their tradition of introducing quality baits that are designed with heavy input from their prostaff. The new RKstar crankbait and BBZ-1 Rats only increase the versatility of what you can do with SPRO hardbaits whether your cranking, backtrolling, or targeting lunkers on the surface.
