Introduction:
Gearing up for a day of fly fishing involves much more than just a rod, reel, line, and fly selection. Things like choosing the proper clothing, accessories, and ways to store these accessories all come into play. Fishpond has long been known to provide premium solutions to meet these needs of anglers, and this year their product launches definitely didn't disappoint!

Fishpond products (like this “Best Eco-Friendly Product” award-winning Thunderhead Sling) now see widespread usage of Cyclepond fabric which is made from recycled fishing nets.

Fishpond Packs: Using Fishpond's recycled CYCLEPOND fabric, the new Thunderhead Sling and El Nino Guide Pack give anglers new ways to store tackle and accessories on the water. The inside of these packs are 100-percent waterproof thanks to TPU-coated and welded fabric and a submersible TIZIP zipper. Besides the huge main storage area, both packs also feature a small inner accessory storage pocket, outer water-resistant zippered pocket, mesh back panels, built-in net slot, and several tabs and cord loops for attaching accessories. Expect a retail price of $199.95 for either pack.

The new El Nino Guide Pack is made to be both rugged and waterproof.

Oxbow Chest/Backpack: This brand-new combo pack from Fishpond can be used together or the hydration backpack can be separated for use on its own. Made of CYCLEPOND fabric, other notable features include a mesh back panel, padded and contoured shoulder straps, twin zip-out rod tube holders, net attachment point, and internal water reservoir. MSRP is $189.95.

Note the hydration straw coming off the side of the Oxbow Chest/Backpack.

The Kingfisher Tech Vest has abundant storage.

Kingfisher Tech Vest: This technical one-size-fits-most vest is also constructed of CYCLEPOND fabric and sports three fly/cargo bench pockets and seven other zippered pockets on the front, with two large rear pockets. Shoulder straps are padded and weight-distributing, and you'll also find a mesh rear and fleece hand warmers. For your accessories, Fishpond has built in a plethora of tabs, loops, and a D-ring for a net. Retail price will be $179.95.

The Muchacha Vest is made for all the lady anglers out there.

Muchacha Tech Vest: Specifically designed for women, this lightweight vest made of CYCLEPOND fabric boasts 13 outer pockets, fleece hand-warming pockets, and a mesh backing. There's also a large rear pocket for bigger items, and shoulder/waist straps are adjustable for comfort. Made in one size to fit most women. Retail is set at $139.95

Sling Packs: Not to be left out, these two packs also make use of recycled CYCLEPOND fabric. The Summit Sling Pack ($99.99) touts Fishpond's molded drop-down fly/cargo bench with a Velcro foam fly attachment spot, water bottle holder, and a generously-sized pocket for a fly box or other similarly-sized item.

The Summit Sling took home the “Best Pack/Vest” award at IFTD this year.

Mesh back panels work by keeping moisture and heat under control.

The Buckhorn Sling Pack ($129.95) is a scaled-down model of the existing Delta Sling Pack. Both the Summit and Buckhorn also feature water-resistant zippers, shoulder pad workstation, various attachment points, and a net sleeve.

The Drifty Boat Caddy is made to easily attach to things.......

Beverage/Accessory Storage: The versatile Drifty Boat Caddy ($99.95) features a molded fly/cargo bench and has the ability to be attached to a cooler, strapped to the frame of a raft, or hung over a boat's gunwale.  The Cerveza Sidekick ($69.95) can be worn around the neck or snapped onto a cooler. Both items also sport a beverage holder, webbed loops, daisy chain loops, and various attachment points.

…....like this YETI cooler!

New sizes in the Sushi Roll give you more fly storage options.

Conclusion:  Fishpond also tells us there's two new sizes available for the Sushi Roll fly keepers, versatile Molded Water Bottle Holder, as well as heavier waxed canvas and a new color option for the Lodgepole Fishing Satchel, River Bank Backpack, Bighorn Kit Bag, Cabin Creek Toiletry Kit, and Boulder Briefcase. If you find yourself in need of any of these items the wait isn't a long one, as they will be released this fall.
