Introduction:
Weight forward. Double taper. Shooting heads. Regardless of what species you are pursuing, choosing the correct fly line is just as important as tying on the right fly pattern. Airflo has been in the fly line game for quite some time, and every year their forward-thinking leads to improvements and new innovations in line performance and design. Was the 2015 IFTD show any different? Of course not! Like always, this year's show saw the Airflo team showcase a variety of new items including lines, leaders, and tippets.

Airflo offers something for all fly anglers!

Bandit Super-DRI: This weight-forward line features a long rear taper with the first twelve feet utilizing a dual color camo tip for stealth while casting and in the water. Color is two-tone olive. Length is 90-feet and the line comes in weights 4–8 at a price of $79.99

Euro Nymph Line: The specialized 82.5-foot Euro-Nymph line sports a taper-less design, low-stretch core, and a 0.60-millimeter diameter. There's also a highly-visible tip and welded micro loops for added convenience. Pricing comes in at $54.99 per line.

Euro nymphing has become hot stateside in recent year, and this new line is made specifically for it.

Clear Tip Tropical Long: Designed for hot climates, this 100-foot line has been refreshed with a clear head and yellowish-colored running line. Choose from weights 6–12 at a price of $84.99.

Skagit Compact G2: Available in weights 6/7 to 10/11, the 19-foot Skagit Compact G2 is designed to easily allow anglers to fish heavy tips down deep. Long-distance hooksets are improved thanks to the low-stretch Power Core. Expect a price of $54.99.

New Bomber lines are great for salmon fishing.

C.A.S.T Super-DRI: Short for Canadian Atlantic Salmon Taper, C.A.S.T lines measure 95-feet in length with a weight-forward taper. Geared towards single-handed rods, the special front taper allows for a blend of power and finesse. Sizes are 7–9 weight and MSRP is $79.99.

Bomber Super-DRI: Part of the Super-DRI series, this line touts a high-floating front taper designed to cast long leaders and bulky flies. Weights range from 7–9 at a price of $79.99.

No matter what line you need, Airflo's got it!

Super-DRI Running Line: These new running lines are constructed with a black band at the end to aid in helping the caster to load the rod correctly and efficiently. MSRP is $39.99.

Impact Mono Running Line: Coming in 150-foot spools, this mono running line is constructed with a hint of stretch and a firm, slippery finish. Choose from 30 or 44-pound tests for $17.99 each.

Leaders: Completely redesigned Floating Trout Polyleaders have better performance with an upgraded coating and micro welded loops at an MSRP of $8.99. Tactical Tapered Leaders range from 7X to 20-pound tests in several sizes and either fluorocarbon or monofilament. MSRP for fluoro leaders is $12.95 while mono leaders are $4.95 or $11.95 for a pack of three 9-footers.

The back of Airflo line boxes gives a summary of features and specifications.

Tippet: Several new tippets are coming from Airflo. The Tactical Tippet is a copolymer that comes in 30-yard ($4.95) or 110-yard ($9.95) spools in 7X to 20-pound and is perfect for all-around fishing conditions. Sightfree G5 Fluorocarbon comes in 30-yard ($14.95) or 110-yard ($39.95) spools in 7X to 20-pound tests and is made for the ultimate in durability and performance. Sightfree G4 Fluorocarbon is a very supple 100% fluorocarbon that arrives in 7X to 20-pound tests in 30-yard ($12.95) or 110-yard ($24.95) sizes. Finally, Sightfree Salt Fluorocarbon blends durability with suppleness and comes in 30-yard spools (from $12.95) in 10,12,14,16, and 20-pound tests.

Thanks to Gareth Jones for taking the time to talk about all the new lines.

Conclusion: Whew, that was quite a rundown from the crew at Airflo! They have obviously been seriously busy on and off the water getting these lines, leaders, and tippets right. If you are in need of any of their latest fly line releases you can expect to start seeing them become available around October, while tippets and leaders will follow around November. We are certain that they will have another batch of great stuff to show us next year!
