Introduction: STORMR has been on a roll. Last year the company was just starting to make a name for itself in the fishing industry and this year STORMR took home top honors in the technical apparel category for their Fusion Hybrid Series Bibs.

Last season we reviewed the Strykr neoprene jacket and bib and found the garment to quite a strong performer. The key to the Strykr was the use of neoprene which gave the jacket the ability to tackle the most extreme elements.

The Fusion Hybrid makes use of a waterproof breathable shell and high strength neoprene panels

While the Strykr delivered in the performance category it was a little too extreme for some bass anglers, especially those fish in warmer weather that wanted something that was waterproof but a little more lightweight and packable. STORMR answered with the Fusion Hybrid Jacket and Bib which uses Vapr-tech.

VAPR Technology stands for variable-stretch Advanced Performance Raingear and is basically the lighter weight equivalent to STORMR's neoprene core technology. VAPR employs a much lighter waterproof breathable shell that is reinforced with high stretch neoprene panels for excellent durability and mobility.

The Fusion Jacket and Bib are designed to pair together perfectly

The Fusion gear is a lot lighter and the way the garments are positioned is that the Fusion is targeted at anglers fishing in more mild conditions while the Strykr is the right choice for extreme conditions. Both garments are waterproof, windproof and breathable.

The Fusion Hybrid Bib is light and comfortable and features a 100% seam sealed design with a splash proof zippered chest

The Fusion Hybrid Jacket and Hybrid Bib will both be available in 3 weeks and will retail for $259 dollars each, a very reasonable price for premium foul weather gear. We think that the Fusion Series will be popular among bass anglers looking for foul weather gear that can be easily stowed and will not feel heavy or inhibit casting and retrieve motions through a full day of fishing.

While most anglers now know STORMR for their foul weather gear the company is also introducing other lighter garments that can be worn around town like neoprene jackets and hoodies, but are still technical enough to be used for fishing applications. STORMR continues to push the envelope with their neoprene technology and if you are in the market for high-end foul weather gear the new Fusion Hybrid Series is definitely worth considering.
