A BIG new addition to the CCFX2 series by Nautilus

Introduction:
It takes a special blend of components and engineering to make the perfect big-game fly reel. That is certainly not an easy undertaking, but the folks at Nautilus seem to have the right formula in play. Their reels have received a ton of praise in recent years, and at this year's IFTD show they unleashed a real beast from their Miami, FL headquarters.

The heavy porting and narrow spool are two great design attributes.

CCFX2 Silver King Fly Reel: The latest and greatest from Nautilus is the CCFX2 Silver King fly reel. This large-arbor reel is perfect for up to about a 12-weight line and features a spool that's 5 inches in diameter yet is narrow in width enabling up to 15 inches of line pickup. Despite its large size, the Silver King weighs in at just 9.1 ounces—extremely light for a reel of this caliber. Equipped with the standard features of all CCFX2 reels, a few notables include a quick-release spool, big-game handle, and the impressive CCFX2 sealed carbon fiber and cork drag system.

The reel is available in both black and silver color schemes and is perfect for saltwater, freshwater, and spey applications. A Silver King reel will set you back $685.00; $315.00 for a spare spool, and be available around the end of the year.

Honson Lau shows off the new Silver King.

Conclusion: The Silver King has the distinction of taking home two awards from the IFTD show, winning both the Best of Show Freshwater Fly Reel (black model) and Best of Show Saltwater Fly Reel (silver model. We expect these reels to be a huge hit with big game anglers everywhere.
