Introduction:
Few will argue that Hatch makes some of the sweetest looking and performing fly reels around. What did they have in store for us this year at the IFTD show? Much more than reels, that's for sure. Here's a look at the new products they will be unleashing into the market.

Now this is one cool looking reel!

New 2 Plus Finatic Reel: Filling the void between the 1 Plus and 3 Plus, the new 2 Plus brings another size to the Hatch reel family. This reel sports the top-tier features of other Hatch reels like fully-machined construction, a Rulon/stainless sealed drag, and one-piece reel foot and frame, to name just a few. The 2 Plus weighs 3.7 ounces with a diameter of 3 inches and a width of 1.25 inches.

We like the attention to detail and overall futuristic design.

Perfect for 1–3 weight lines, it comes in a large arbor configuration only and offers capacities (with standard 20-pound dacron) of 70 yards with WF0F, 60 yards with WF1F, and 50 yards with WF2F. Color choices include clear/red, clear/black, clear/green, clear/blue, and black/silver. Retail price is set at $380.00 with spare spools running $170.00. These are available right now.

These precision pliers will launch around September 1st.

Nomad Pliers: These new pliers are machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and type 2 anodized with the jaws, bottle opener, and cutting blades made from stainless steel. Each unit measures 6.25 inches long, weighs 3.9 ounces, and also includes a leather snap-back sheath and bungee lanyard. You can choose from blue/clear, red/clear, or clear/red color schemes at a price of $280.00 each.

Hatch fly lines will be available around September 1st.

Fly Lines and Leaders: To complement their premium braided backing, Hatch is also introducing their own labels of fly lines and leader material. Designed in cooperation with Airflo, these lines boast features like Ridge technology (like Aiflo Ridge lines), a super-slick coating, a "power core" which is a braid with 6% stretch, and welded loops on both ends. Weight-forward floaters will come in sizes 7–12, Intermediate lines in 10–12, and Sinking lines in 400, 500, and 650-grain sizes.

Thanks to Danny and Adam Ashcraft for showing us the new gear!

Conclusion: Hatch continues to keep their product lineup fresh this year with additions that extend beyond the realm of fly reels. As this California-based company continues to grow, we look forward to seeing more from them in the future. Until then, we also look forward to getting our hands on one of their offerings for a full review!
