Fenwick's New Elite Tech Bass Series

Manufacturer: Fenwick

Introduction:
Fenwick was to the old school angler as G.Loomis is to today's' generation. There was, at one time, no fishing rod manufacturer as prestigious as Fenwick. As a member of the fishing community who remembers those days, I look forward to ICAST each passing year, to see what the crew over at Fenwick has in store.

Elite Tech: New for this year is the Elite Tech Bass series from Fenwick. The company has been making these sticks for Muskie, Walleye, River and Smallmouth fishermen and this year, they're filling out the rod racks with a bass series in this popular line.

Introducing Fenwick's Elite Tech Bass Series.

Featuring what Fenwick describes as a high modulus graphite blank, each Elite Tech series rod features the company's very own Hidden Handle design with TAC Handle. This means the foregrip on each rod is integrated into the reel seat locking mechanism so the threads for the reel seat are concealed from view once your reel is locked onto the rod.

Elite Tech rods feature Fenwick's TAC handle.

In addition, Fenwick inserts their TAC handle material (a mixture of cork and rubberized cork material) under each reel seat for comfort and stability when holding your combo. There are 18 total rods in the lineup including 11 casting and 7 spinning.

Their Hidden Handle design means no exposed threads from the reel seat.

Fenwick's decision on labeling their Elite Tech series rods returns to a time where manufacturers gave anglers the benefit of the doubt in being able to determine how best to use a rod labeled with only a general set of specifications. In other words, you'll find no suggested technique or technique specific labels on these rods. Each is labeled with a power, taper, length, recommended lure and line weight, and that's it.

Casey Davidson introduces Fenwick's Elite Tech Bass Rods.

Conclusion: Fenwick's new Elite Tech Bass series looks promising and with good number of rods in both spinning and casting configurations, it shouldn't be difficult for fans to pick, choose, and fill out their rod lockers in support of their favorite techniques. Considering each stick in the lineup carries with it the modest price tag of only $149, you can do so without breaking the bank.
