Edge Rods Expands Their Product Offering

Introduction:
Edge Rods by North Fork Composites made a rather auspicious if not ostentatious debut in the bass fishing world last year with the introduction of their first series of bass rods the Black Widow. These rods were built with performance in mind and provided no compromises for mass market appeal. Those who approached the sticks with an open mind were rewarded, those who could not bring themselves to take the plunge were left in the dark. But no matter, Edge Rods has two new series planned for the coming year and this time, there is some mass market appeal.

Introducing Edge Rod's First Strike Series.

First Strike Series: Of course, the best way to appeal to a wider market is to lower your price point. That's what Edge Rod's new First Strike series is all about - an introductory product line to introduce a new audience to their capabilities. Built with Pac Bay Titanium Minima guides, a very unique, molded carbon grip, and Edge Rod's custom, offset reel seat, price range on these sticks will be from $199 - $209 depending on the model.

These sticks feature a rather unique grip.

There's a new top dog in the Edge camp.

Nickel Black Series: Another bit of news from Edge is their existing, Black Widow line of bass rods will receive a price decrease down to a range of between $350 - $425. This makes room for a new topdog, the Nickel Black series built with a mix of Fuji Torzite and REC Black pearl Recoil guides, and a unique, nickel infused carbon grip. Rods from this series will range between $549 - $599 per stick.

Introducing the Nickel Black featuring nickel infused carbon grips.

Jon Bial is Gary Loomis's right hand man at Edge Rods by North Fork Composites and they are building some quality sticks!

Conclusion: Of course, all these sticks are made right here in the United States in Edge Rod's factory located in Woodland, Washington - aka Fishing Rod Manufacturer USA. With the number of budget rods series we witnessed being debuted at ICAST this year, will the First Strike price point be low enough for consumers to take notice and sample the Edge Rods product? Only time will tell, but we're already sorting through which models we want to test first!
