Hunt The Big Ones With New Baits From Lunkerhunt

Location: Las Vegas, NV
Admission: Buyers & Press Only
Manufacturer: Lunkerhunt

Introduction:
We brought you coverage of Lunkerhunt baits at last year's ICAST show in Orlando where the company took home the award for “Best Soft Lure” with their Bento Baits Minnow. Unbelievably, the company took home the exact same award this year for their new Lunker Frog lure. Will this be a yearly occurrence? Only time will tell, but for now let's check out the latest offerings from this hot company!

Lunkerhunt introduces new frogs and they look very lifelike

Lunker Frog and Pocket Frog: The new award-winning Lunker Frog is touted as being the most lifelike available. The anatomically-correct design means that the frog looks like the real thing, and the legs actually retract on the pause and kick upon retrieval. With a length of 2.5 inches at rest, the long, kicking legs stretch out to 4.5 inches when the bait is moved. Another unique characteristic is that the frog will rest with the body slightly down into the water, rather than floating completely flat on the surface like most frog baits. Because of the leg and toe design, the Lunker Frog can be either buzzed or twitched across the surface with great results. The Lunker Frog weighs in at 1/2 ounce, comes in 10 different colors, and is available right now for  $7.99.

The pocket frog features the same attractive finishes just in a bite size

The Pocket Frog has all the same features and characteristics as the Lunker Frog, but comes in at a smaller size. We can envision this bait as being great for clear water, smaller bass, or fishing tiny ponds. Like the Lunker Frog, it's weedless design and soft body allows for maximum snag protection and hookup ratios. This bait weighs 1/4 ounce, also comes in 10 colors, and will be available in September for $6.99 each.

Swim Bento: The award-winning Bento Minnow we saw at last year's ICAST show now comes in a variation called the Swim Bento. Rather than the straight, split tail of the minnow version, this new bait features a “boot-style” paddle tail that produces a kicking action. Each bait features a built-in “keel” that allows for even water displacement and additional tail reinforcement, as well as a solid plastic body. Swim Bentos come in 4 1/2 inch and 3 inch sizes, 5 different colors, and carry a price of $7.99 per pack.

Mosquito: The mosquito is a sinking jerkbait that allows the angler to count it down to the desired depth range before retrieval. Despite it's small 2.5 inch size, it is advertised as being very easy to cast a good distance. Six different high quality finishes and an internal rattle in each bait completes the package. Look for these to be offered in September for $7.99 each.

Fillet: The Fillet is a new lip-less rattlebait from Lunkerhunt. It is offered in 3 different colors, each measuring 3 inches in length. This bait is unique due to the fact that it has both very loud rattles, and stands up on it's nose on the bottom when paused. This makes it effective for inactive fish, or fish on beds. Look for the Fillet in September at a price of $8.99 each.

Congratulations to the team at Lunkerhunt for introducing yet another range of quality, award winning, baits

Conclusion: David Macdonald and the crew at Lunkerhunt continue to roll out quality, innovative baits. Claiming back to back “Best Soft Lure” awards, it will be interesting to see what they have in store for next year. With a lure market that is absolutely saturated, they have thus far demonstrated that they are capable of setting themselves apart from the crowd!
