River2Sea's Prostaff Roll out Signature Baits Including the Bumbershoot Umbrella Rig

Date: 7/18/12
Location: Las Vegas, NV
Admission: Buyers & Press Only
Manufacturer: River2Sea
Reviewer: Team TackleTour

Introduction: River2Sea had a large showing this ICAST with introductions of new products in just about every popular bait category from wirebaits to swimbaits. The company has leveraged the expertise of their growing prostaff and created a new line of products that feature both innovative design and quality craftsmanship worthy of tournament applications.

Pro Angler John Murray shows us the Bumbershoot

Bumbershoot: It was just a matter of time. Elite Series Pro John Murray and River2Sea introduced a umbrella rig at ICAST called the Bumbershoot. The Bumbershoot is all about flexibility, both in action and configuration. This rig features collapsible wire arms for storage and an integrated c-ring organizer that keeps the welded end wires organized for easy adjustment and assembly. The Bumbershoot also features a threaded lockdown nut that flares the pre-curved wires into fishing position when tightened and allows them to be folded together for storage when loosened.

This rig comes loaded with blades and a single "Rig Walker" swimbait

Each of the four external arms come pre-loaded with the same ultralight, ultrathin blades that are utilized on the company's Bling spinnerbait.  These blades are removable thanks to our unique clevises that allow the blades to be taken off the arms.

One of the coolest things about this bait is it folds down for storage

The Bumbershoot is available in a single shad color and weighs roughly one ounce (unrigged). It comes with replacement wires and a single "Rig Walker" swimbait and will retail for $19.99 each. The Rig Walker 100 swimbaits are also available separately and is based on the company's Bottom Walker. This swimbait is designed for the Bumbershoot and other umbrella rigs and features a paddetail design and minnow shaped body and comes armed with an oversized black nickel hook. The Rig Walker 100 comes five to a pack, weighs-in at 1/2-ounce, measures four inches and will be available in four colors; Silverside, Ice White, Smoke Shad and Herring. Each pack will will retail for only $6.99.

Ish's Biggie square bill crankbait continues to gain popularity

Ish Monroe Series: Pro Angler Ish Monroe is a master of shallow water fishing and his signature line of baits reflects this. Introduced earlier this year these baits continue to gain popularity among bass anglers. One of the most popular are the Biggie squarebill crankbaits. The Biggie is available in two sizes and the "Bumpin" and "Creepin" rattling and silent versions.

Ish shows us his Bling spinnerbait

The Biggie family is available now for $8.49 each at e-tailers like Tackle Warehouse in 10 premium finishes hand selected by Monroe to catch bass everywhere; they are armed with River2Seas exclusive Big Bite short shank treble hooks. The larger Poppa carries size 2 hooks while Smalls features size 4 to ensure quality hookups and more landed bass. In addition Ish's Bling Spinnerbaits continue to gain traction and are designed for throwing into cover and delivering exceptional vibration with blades that are both lighter and thinner. These baits also retail for $8.49 each.

The Bully Wa gets new color additions

The company's Bully Wa frog features a wide profile and keel shaped design to help the frog walk easily. This year the company expands the line beyond the traditional patterns with a number of new designs that help anglers further match the hatch.

Scott Martin's Rover gets new sizes and patterns

Scott Martin's Rover: The original Rover is a walking bait that is designed to put the traditional walk the dog technique into overdrive. Instead of a traditional  gliding action this bait is designed to slash side by side more aggressively. The face of this lure is designed to displace more water and add to the the lure's unique action.

Pro Angler Scott Martin compares the 128 and 98 sized baits

The Scott Martin Rover features new patterns and sizes. There will be two sizes, 128 and 98 which will retail for $11.99 and $9.99 each. New patterns include the Abalone Shad (which makes use of real abalone inserts), Bigmouth, Bone, Funky Tiger, Glamour, Herring, Ghost Minno, Powder, Sooner, Loon (which is a bird pattern), and You know It (which is a gold blue shad pattern). These new Rover signature baits are in final development and are about 60 days out.

The S-Waver will soon be available in 4 more patterns

The S-Waver swimbait also got some love this ICAST with the introduction of four new patterns, Herring, You Know It, Abalone Shad, and Yellow Perch. The secret is out on this bait and many anglers have been using it to catch fish in even cold weather conditions where fish seem mesmerized by the odd underwater side by side gliding action. All in all River2Sea had another great ICAST and strengthened their already robust product line with additional patterns and brand new baits. With new lures like the collapsible and configurable John Murray Bumbershoot umbrella rig, Ish and Scott Martin's new series of baits anglers have plenty of new choices for their big bass arsenal.
