2012 Holiday Gift Guide
Part 1- Reels, Rods and Line for Both the Naughty and Nice
(continued)

Fluorocarbon
Line :
Seaguar Tatsu – 1000 yd Spools - Given the number of reels we go through
not just each year, but each fishing trip, our number one complaint about
fluorocarbon has always been the lack of availability (for quality fluorocarbon)
in bulk spools. Thanks to Seaguar, that frustration is no longer. Do you have an
angler on your list who prefers fluorocarbon line?

Worth its weight in
gold is Seaguar Tatsu Fluorocarbon
Does that angler respool often and/or have a fleet of reels that needs tending
to every so often with new line? Seaguar’s new 1000 yard spools of Tatsu, their
highest quality, mainline, fluorocarbon, is
the answer.

If frogging and
flipping is your thing Sunline has you covered with FX2
Braided Line : Sunline FX2
-
If flipping and frogging are your go-to techniques, Sunline’s new FX2 braided
line should be on your shortlist of new lines to try for 2013. It’s a newly
developed, 8 strand braid from Sunline designed with input from Dean Rojas and
Aaron Martens in support of these heavy cover techniques. As such, this
specialty line is available only in 50, 60, and 80lb test at
Hi's Tackle Box.

Defier, an expensive but very high performing nylon mono line
Monofilament Line: Sunline Defier - Sunline really won us over with the
introduction of their Super Natural nylon monofilament a couple of years ago. In
fact, with the quality and affordable price of Super Natural, we’re surprised to
see their premium nylon monofilament, Defier, still on store shelves. This
happens to be Cal’s favorite nylon monofilament but at nearly three times the
cost of Super Natural, even he’s still surprised to see it available. Our
recommendation? Act fast, because if Sunline decides to cut back their product
offering in this economy, Defier is a prime candidate for discontinuation.
