A Hot Swappable
Jerkbait - The Baitsanity Explorer BCS 120
(continued)

When
it comes to
patterns, Baitsanity
offers 11 color
options ranging from
translucent to
opaque, with both
matte and glossy
finishes. The
assortment is
well-rounded and
ideal for targeting
most freshwater
species, especially
bass, stripers, and
large trout. For
bass, the most
productive patterns
for me were Perch,
Bread, Summer Shad,
and Glossy Pearl.
For stripers, the
flashy Wakasagi,
Glossy Pearl, and
Kokanee delivered
excellent results.

Some of my favorite
and most productive
patterns. You just
can't go wrong with
a light colored
jerkbait sometimes
and Baitsanity's
Bread pattern is a
proven performer
Price and
Applications:
The Baitsanity
Explorer Jerkbaits
retail for $26.99,
positioning them at
the higher end of
the jerkbait market
- even surpassing
proven options like
the Megabass ITO
Vision 110 ($24.99).
While the price may
seem steep,
comparing the
Explorer to
traditional
jerkbaits is an
apples-to-oranges
scenario.

This is the first
jerkbait I've fished
in years that feels
truly new and
innovative
Unlike standard
jerkbaits, the
Explorer BCS 120 is
more of a “system”
than a single lure.
Its ability to
customize sink rates
and behavior on the
fly makes it far
more versatile than
a “one-trick pony.”
Anglers can easily
adapt to varying
depths without
retying, a huge
advantage,
especially when
paired with live
sonar. This
adaptability
provides a unique
edge, as no other
jerkbait on the
market offers this
level of versatility
to target fish at
varying depths with
such customizable
diverse
presentations.
Whether the price is
justified depends
largely on your
fishing style. If
you already carry a
full arsenal of
jerkbaits rigged for
different depths,
you might see less
benefit from the BCS
120 system. However,
if you value instant
adaptability, fish
from the bank, or
want a jerkbait
capable of
effectively
targeting fish at
multiple depths, the
BCS 120 offers
excellent
flexibility.

In many ways the
Baitsanity Jerkbait
is more than just
another ripbait, but
rather a complete
system that excels
in targeting fish at
varying depths,
something
traditional
jerkbaits cannot do
Another major
benefit of this
modular system is
its effectiveness
year-round. For
example, in the
summer when weeds
run high, the C1
module allows the
bait to stay just
above the
vegetation. The C2
module suspends
perfectly for
structure-oriented
fish. In the winter,
when fish hold
deeper, the heavier
C3 and C4 modules
put the bait right
in the strike zone.
With its
customizable sink
rates and
versatility, the
Baitsanity Explorer
BCS 120 isn’t just a
jerkbait - it’s a
highly adaptable
fish-targeting tool
that excels in a
wide range of
conditions.

Fahad always has a
few surprises to
show me every time
we meet. This is his
upcoming Broomwalker
topwater bait which
will be available in
a range of sizes to
target everything
from Smallies to
Murray Cod
Conclusion:
Some tackle brands
are driven by the
creativity of their
lead designers, and
in the case of
Baitsanity, that
driving force is
undoubtedly the
company’s founder,
Fahad. Every time I
speak with Fahad, he
not only shares a
handful of fresh
ideas but often has
working prototypes
aligned with his
next three year
roadmap. Case in
point: while we were
fishing the
production versions
of the BCS Jerkbait,
Fahad pulled out
three new swimbaits
he’s currently
developing - a
topwater plug called
the Broomwalker, a
compact BFS
swimbait, and a new
shad wakebait (which
I can’t discuss
further… for now).

The smallest
Baitsanity swimbait?
A look at a
prototype of their
upcoming BFS
offering
It’s been
fascinating to
witness the
evolution of the
Baitsanity Jerkbait.
While the final
production version
retains the core
features of the
original prototypes,
it’s significantly
more refined. An
internal casting
system would be the
icing on the cake,
but even as it
stands, this bait is
very compelling.

The Baitsanity
Jerkbait BCS 120's
hot swappable
C-Connector design
helps make this bait
an effective tool
for targeting fish
with deadly
precision, and is a
very innovative and
fun to fish new
jerkbait system
Most jerkbaits
adhere to the same
tried-and-true
formula, but the BCS
120 stands apart by
offering something
truly new,
effective, and
exciting to fish.
Baitsanity
consistently
surprises with its
unique, often
patented
features, and each
conversation with
Fahad reveals
something fresh on
the horizon. At the
heart of
Baitsanity’s success
is a relentless
focus on design and
production,
prioritizing
differentiation,
consistency, and
accessibility for
anglers. The BCS
Jerkbait delivers on
all these fronts,
with an adaptive hot
swappable module
design that makes it
one of the most
versatile, and
innovative,
jerkbaits on the
market today.
