The Skirt: The original Pepper Jig is somewhat unique in that it is offered with both a silicone skirt and a living rubber skirt. The skirts are fastened with a thin wire tie and offered in roughly ten living rubber colors and over fifty silicone skirt combinations.

The Original Pepper Jig is a modified arkie head with two red eyeballs painted on the head...
The Hook: Pepper Custom Baits builds all their product around Gamakatsu brand hooks. The Original Pepper Jig features a heavy duty 4/0 Gamakatsu that's held up just fine for us.

... and a stout, 4/0 Gamakatsu Flipping Hook.
Head & Line Tie: The line ties on all our Pepper Jigs were clean and clear right out of the package. They are positioned like a typical arkie style jig making them suitable for flipping and hopping around rocks. The arkie head is a good general purpose jig head customized with a subtle raised area under each painted eye.

A quick look at their Flipping jig.
Durability: We're uncertain as to the finishing process on the Pepper Jigs, but they've survived several fishing trips as well as repeated sidewalk torture tests. The paint on these heads is not only well executed, but it is durable. We've experienced no premature wear on the skirts or their ties.

Featuring a wide gap hook and more aggressive bait keeper.
Availability: Pepper Custom Baits products are available through both TackleWarehouse and MonsterFishingTackle.com, but also direct through the company's website at pepperjigs dot com.
