Introduction: What happens when you take a couple of college friends who happen to be a tournament fishing partners, throw in some frustration over the durability of terminal tackle they've been using, and finally add a Flair for pro wrestling? Well quite naturally, you get a terminal tackle company called WOO! Tungsten.

Introducing WOO! Tungsten

Background: Founded by college friends Aaron Anders and Chris Van Vliet, WOO! Tungsten's raison d'être is to offer and create tungsten weight products with a finish that does not chip. Frustrated by how quickly the finish wore off the tungsten weights they used during tournaments, Anders and Van Vliet formed WOO! Tungsten in 2016 with the goal of solving that malady. Judging by the Pro Bass Fishermen they've won over, Mark Daniels Jr., Seth Fieder, Chris and more, they've achieved that very goal.

Everyone knows by now that tungsten is more environmentally sound and offers a much smaller size to weight ratio than lead, but when it comes to a terminal tackle company producing and selling tungsten weighted components, it's usually limited to offerings like bullet and drop shot weights. WOO! Tungsten offers much more.

Bullet and drop shot weights have their sizes clearly marked

Swimbait Hooks: Offered in sizes from one eighth to three eighths of an ounce (1/8-3/8oz), WOO! Tungsten offers a weighted swimbait hook built around a Mustad Ultrapoint hook equipped with a screw-lock baitkeeper. They feature a matte black finish for stealth and retail for between $7.49 - $7.99 per pack depending on size. The 1/8oz & 1/4oz sizes come in packs of three while the 3/8oz size comes in a pack of two.

How long have you waited for a tungsten weighted swimbait hook?

Jigheads: Up until now, anglers wanting to switch over entirely to tungsten weighted products have had to compromise in their jighead game. The tungsten weighted options here are few and far between if they exist at all. WOO! Tungsten is here to answer the call with a complete suite of jighead products including shaky heads (Mustad Ultrapoint hook), ned heads (Gamakatsu hook), and wacky heads (hook unspecified). If you just want the straight up jig, WOO! offers a tungsten weighted flipping jig designed by Seth Fieder and built around a VMC Flipping hook.

Shakey heads are among the several jighead products offered by WOO! Tungsten

Pre-Packaged Kits: If you're interested in trying or stocking up, but are unsure where to begin, WOO! offers pre-packaged kits to help introduce you to their product or build your terminal tackle arsenal around your favorite technique. Everything in their kits are available à la carte, and depending on the kit may include rubber pegs for your bullet weights, flipping beads made of resin so they won't crack or chip and more.

WOO! Tungsten also offers punch skirts, lure wraps, nail and barrel shaped weights and pre-packaged kits to get you started with their product

We've only discussed a partial list of WOO! Tungsten's lineup. The company also offers punch skirts, lure wraps, nail and barrel shaped weights and more and anglers can learn more about the company's entire portfolio at the WOO! Website. Their bullet weights are actually offered both in a non-chip and traditional painted finish and their drop shot weights are offered with the traditional, line pinching top, or the growing in popularity closed loop tops.

Zander regularly uses WOO! Tungsten for both finesse and power fishing, and is a fan of the company's Never Chip Weights

Both the bullet and drop shot weights are labeled so it's easy to know what size you're fishing, and more importantly, which size you need to re-order. I don't know about you, but for me, that's the best feature of all. After the weights get mixed into my terminal tackle box, I rarely remember the actual weights so when it comes time to order more, I have to guess on sizes. Knowing this ahead of time is reason enough for me to tap into my inner Ric Flair and exclaim WOO!
