The Return of Kistler's Carbon Steel Line

Introduction: Having spent the greater part of the last several years rebuilding and rebranding, their product line and reorganizing their manufacturing methods to bring jobs back to their factory in Magnolia, Texas, Kistler Custom Rods is building sticks for an entirely new generation of angler. But of course, building rods domestically comes with higher costs making it difficult to produce a competitive stick in the very hotly contested $80 - $120 price point.

Introducing the new Carbon Steel rods from Kistler Custom Rods.

The New Carbon Steel: Enter the new Carbon Steel rods from Kistler. Sourced from overseas to keep costs down, these rods share the same bare Z-Bone aesthetic as their existing lineups.

Featuring split rear grip handles made with tapered, select grade cork...

The blank on the new Carbon Steel rods is sanded, but unfinished to enhance feel and keep the weight of the overall rods as low as possible. The intermediate modulus graphite blanks are then outfitted with Kigan brand, tangle free, stainless steel guides with Coalite ceramic rings that are larger than micro but still smaller than standard sized guides.

Reel seats are pretty standard and grips are specified as select grade cork featuring a split rear grip and a tapered design for added comfort. Both the spinning and casting rods feature a soft EVA butt cap.

There will be five casting and two spinning models in the lineup with prices ranging from $119.95 to $129.95 depending on the model. Each rod is covered by Kistler's One Year VIP Protection Plan Warranty.
