Outdoor Pro Shop's BassJam 2009 (pt. 2)(continued)
Skinny Bear: Loren Serda greeted us at the Skinny Bear booth to show us a product they had been working on for some time, but were beaten to the punch with, literally, by Paycheck Baits. Skinny Bear has their own version of a punch skirt built around a lead bead for more silky smooth sliding performance on the line. Skinny Bear’s twist on this new bait style is to include a harness to hold two rattles – a feature that is enabled by the use of their wider, lead shaped bead. These new skirts will be available in eighteen different color combinations and sell for $5.69 a two pack. Rattles will be available separately.
Skinny Bear offers their own twist to the punch skirt phenomenon.

Paycheck Baits: Bub Tosh took a break from his fish catching exploits to be on hand representing his company, Paycheck Baits. With nothing really new to show us in terms of product, from his on the water debut with us several months ago, what Bub did have prepared to talk about was a couple of different ways he’s developed to rig his innovative Punch Skirt. We’ll let Bub explain as only Bub can because as we know, Bub knows rigging.

Gary Dobyns was on hand to show us his prototype Wack'em Xtremes. Final delivery is still undetermined as Dobyns is busy tweaking the final recipe.

Conclusion: To say Outdoor Pro Shop’s new retail space is impressive would be an understatement. BassJam ’09 was a perfect way to showcase this new, yet to be occupied space. Our only concern? That they leave enough flexibility in the layout of this new retail space to host BassJam ’10 because an event of this magnitude has been long overdue in an area that is so close to the nationally renowned bass waters of Clear Lake and the California Delta. By all accounts the inaugural BassJam was a resounding success. Each and every manufacturer with whom we spoke was excited to attend and excited to see an event like this take place in Northern California. We’ve already marked our calendars and reserved time on our schedules for next year. The question is, have you?
