Introduction:
The first thing most anglers think about when they think Savage Gear is baits, and most likely the company's 3D scanned swimbaits or wild topwater lures like the Suicide Duck. This season the company is expanding into rods with their new Browser Series which is designed to tackle a wide range of applications while offering enhanced durability and value to anglers.

Expanding into rods: Savage Gear continues to grow as a brand globally, and while they were already quite well known throughout Europe the line has now become a globally recognized brand thanks to a combination of 3D scanned baits and a strong partnership with Okuma.

Ever since the Savage Gear brand was introduced in the Americas they have been on a roll, even winning many ICAST Best of Show Awards.

As their lineup of unique baits has grown the team decided it was time to introduce a new series of rods designed to offer anglers a refined, powerful, sensitive, and yet reasonably priced option.

The new rods feature split grip designs

Meet the Browser: Interesting name for a new line of rods, the Savage Gear Browser Series was designed with input from the company's prostaff to deliver plenty of strength without sacrificing feel. They wanted to design a rod that handled well, and felt crisp, even on the most powerful models which are designed to launch their largest baits.

The Browser Series consists of fourteen new rods covering everything from finesse to big bait applications

The backbone to the Browser rods consists of a carbon blank with a special tip process Savage Gear calls 1DRF. This process blends unidirectional fiber over 24-ton carbon in the extended tip section of the rod with the goal of increasing lifting strength and power by as much as 400%.

The company explained that the 1DRF technology helps deliver excellent strength without negatively impacting sensitivity so that anglers can feel even the lightest of bites.

The most interesting element of these new rods is the 1DRF design that blend unidirectional fiber over 24-ton carbon in the extended tip section of the rod to significantly increase durability, lifting strength, and power

“The Browser series of rods has been something we were designing and working on for some time,” stated Mike Bennett, Savage Gear USA Product Development Manager.  “These rods have been refined and whittled down to the exact specifications we were looking for and designed for those who dare to catch bigger fish.”

The rod handles are a combination of aggressively styled EVA foam and composite cork
