Chippawa DD Blade: Every five years or so it seems as if the underhead spin jighead goes through a revival. With the steady popularity of this piece of terminal tackle, it only makes sense variants would materialize from the minds of creative lure makers like Hiroshi Nishine. Including a blade on the underside of shallow running, squarebill cranks like Nishine's Chippawa RB Blade is one such result.
The Chippawa DD Blade is rated at 8-10 foot diving depths
This year, Nishine takes it to another level - literally - with the introduction of the Chippawa DD Blade, a crankbait featuring the company's signature profile but in a diving configuration rated for eight to ten feet (8-10') and of course with that willow leaf blade. The turbulence from the blade is designed to give the crank an erratic action while at the same time clashing against the body of the bait for extra flash and sound. The Chippawa DD Blade measures just under two and a half inches and will retail for $17.00 when it debuts in August of this year.
Ever wonder if bass feed on catfish fry?
Nishine Namazu 5": The company is also introducing a new, 5" soft plastic presented in the profile of a baby catfish. This bait should also be effective in areas where bass feed on goby. It is salt impregnated and can be fished a variety of ways including on a weighted jig head or unweighted entirely skipped under docks or overhanging tree limbs. The Namazu will be sold in packs of 5 for $6.99 and available in September of 2019.
