Event Article: 2006 ICAST Innovations Coverage

ICAST Coverage (Innovations) - Everything from clever new storage to transforming watercrafts (continued)

Albackore: This year Albackore released a number of new mobile solutions for anglers that require storage on the go. These included the new Surf N Creel and the Albackore Waist Pack. Both these bags fit in with the rest of the Albackore solutions...and were cleanly designed and built with premium materials.

Jeff shows us the new Surf 'N Creel bag

Surf 'N Creel: The Surf 'N Creel bag is the perfect bag for anglers that wade when they fish. Because the bag is worn over the shoulder it is ideal for both stream and surf fishing. There is an adjustable waist belt that holds the bag in place in front or behind the angler, so it doesn't swing about when casting or fighting fish.

The same clean design

Inside the bag is an insulated cooler/creel that can keep your catch cool, or preserve your lunch. It is cleverly angled so that when loaded up it doesn't bulge out and affect the shape of the bag.

The cooler/creel can be pulled out and the bag can hold utility boxes

This inner bag can be removed for easy cleaning, and if you leave the insulated pouch out you can use the main compartment to hold two large utility boxes. Other features include see through mesh pockets, tool holders, and a drink holder.

Attach the Micro bag to the waist pack for more storage

Albackore Waist Pack: Want even more mobility? The Albackore Waist pack is designed for stream and surf fishing as well, and is perfect for walking along a stream bank or casting into the surf. The even smaller "Micro Bag" can even be attached for more modular storage.

Fully loaded the bag felt comfortable and easy to walk in

The waist pack features a comfortable easy to adjust strap and features hidden side pockets, front mesh pockets. a high capacity main compartment, and multi-purpose D-rings for your tools. This bag is a perfect solution for backcountry anglers, and wont get in the way as you hike to your secret fishing locales.

The Tackle Binder can hold terminal tackle and plastics

Albackore Tackle Binder: Get organized with Albackore's unique tackle binder. From a quick glance this tackle binder might look like any other solution, but it does features some clever engineering. The system makes use of a zip-tie binding system which is 100% corrosion resistant. This makes it safe to organize hook and swivel packs, pre-rigged leaders, beads, or anything else that you might require on the water.

The binder uses replaceable zip ties so that it is 100% corrosion resistant

Leave it to Jeff to make sure that the system is easy to carry. Zip the binder shut and there is a handle in which to carry the binder separately, or simply insert it into one of the adjustable trays in the flagship Albackore 5 backpack.

We love how all of Albackore's many solutions all match in both look and feel, and can be integrated into one easy to use system. While the original Albackore bags were already quite a bit more mobile that competing solutions, the new Surf 'N Creel and Waist Pack usher in a new level of mobility for fans of Albackore's quality tackle management solutions.
