Powell Introduces Eight New Powell Max Models
for 2009
July 24 5 2008 12:38am Press Release
NOVATO, CA. -
In addition to the recent announcement that they
were lowering the prices on all of their rods by thirty dollars, Powell Rods
continues their tradition of excellence and innovation by announcing eight new
bass rods to their already popular Powell Max lineup. The recent announcements
prove once again that Powell is fresh and responsive, despite the fact the
company was founded in 1910
The new additions to
the Powell Max lineup include one spinning rod and seven casting models, which
are all priced with the angler in mind, at Powell’s new lower retail price. The
new models bring the total Powell Max series to a total of 49 technique specific
models.
Highlighting the
casting models will be a pair of telescopic swimbait rods and two new flipping
sticks designed to give the angler the added convenience of a telescoping handle
for easier storage without sacrificing functionality. The swimbait rods will be
available in 7’11” Medium Heavy and Heavy powers, while the flipping sticks will
be available in a 7’6”, heavy power, extra-fast action as well as a new 7’10”
medium-heavy power fast action.
As trends of longer
rods have continued, Powell has also come up with two new eight foot casting
rods. An 804 ex-fast jig and Carolina rig rod, and the 806 CB. The 804 will
give anglers extra leverage on long casts with rigs like heavy jigs and Carolina
rigs; while the 806 CB will give anglers enhanced casting distance and leverage
for fighting fish hooked on big crankbaits. Both are constructed of our super
light “Maxumfiber” graphite technology for less fatigue, perfect action and more
control of hard fighting bass.
For anglers that
prefer a shorter casting rod for close quarter tactics; Powell has added a 6’3”
4 power model in ex-fast action. The 634 was constructed to handle spinner
baits, jigs and soft stickbaits around overhanging cover and super tight casting
conditions.
The newest Powell
Max spinning rod is a 7’3” 2 power designed to give anglers longer distance
casts, better line pickup on the hook set, and more control of the fish during
the fight. The 732 MLEF is built on a medium-light action, extra-fast taper
Maxumfiber blank for use with shaky heads, darter heads, drop shots, split shots
and for shaking worms.
“We are very proud
of these new additions to the Powell Max bass rod lineup,” said Keith Bryan,
President of Powell Rods. “These rods were developed with input from our pro
staff, and our customers; they are designed to meet the needs of anglers
everywhere.”
