A behind the scenes
look inside Tackle Warehouse (continued)

Before
an item can be ordered it needs to be set up in the system. At the same time
that the buyers are working on descriptions all the new products from the
manufacturers are sent to imaging where pictures are taken. Tackle Warehouse is
famous for giving anglers a look at the product from many different angles, and
rather than use stock images from the manufacturers Tackle Warehouse prefers to
shoot each and every product with the angles that they believe best represent
the product to anglers.

Products are scanned with a
wireless system for inventory accuracy
So what happens when you
actually place an order online? The order is generated at Tackle Warehouse and
an employee will actually pick your order by hand, making sure that your order
is accurate and the product being shipped to you meets strict quality standards.
Quality is important and employees actually check and label every product that
arrives when it is first received from the manufacturer.

Rich shows us the well stocked rod
inventory
Looking at the sheer
amount of product in the aisles in the warehouse we found it amazing that
employees can pick and pull orders so quickly and accurately. There is a system
in place where each item is organized into sections and hot items are actually
put in the easiest to reach zones on the shelves.

head of the Customer Service team
Rich allowed us to test
the system and we selected five different products from different categories, he
was able to find the exact products within seconds and had the whole order
pulled within minutes. A rolling cart with trays holds each customer’s order and
a wireless barcode scanner logs each item from the order. Tackle Warehouse has
the entire process down to a science and the inventory system is quite robust
and tied directly into the website.

Clark is in
charge of all receiving
Once the items are picked
and pulled they are packed up and prepared for shipment. Tackle Warehouse is
leading the way in quick, affordable shipping. All Ground orders placed before
2:30pm Pacific Standard Time will be picked, packed, and shipped that same day.
All Air orders placed by 2:30 PM Pacific Standard Time will be shipped the same
day. All orders over $50 receive free ground shipping. Tackle Warehouse protects
fragile items like rods in extra thick tubes, and they actually eat the cost of
the tubes while many other companies include the cost into “shipping and
handling.”

New orders are
picked up by fedex, Tackle Warehouse unlike most competitors offers free ground
shipping on orders 50 dollars or more
