Introduction: Leveraging their over 40 years of experience, Gill continues to up the ante on weather protecting garment for the angler year after year. This year, it's all about warmth with two, new insulation options and one versatile new rain jacket.

Looking for a new mid-layer jacket or vest?

Hydrophobe Jacket & Vest: There are a lot of mid-layer, insulated jacket options but most feature synthetic fills and non-water proof shells. So when Gill decided to attack this space, they took things to the next level. The new Hydrophobe Jacket and Vest feature a 650 Down fill power rating wrapped up in a quilted waterproof fabric.

The new Hydrophobe from Gill is filled with down and is waterproof!

The FG25 suit is built for bad weather in cold climates.

FG25 Insulated Jacket and Bib: The FG25 suit was designed for cold, bad conditions. The type of weather where the trophies bite. Insulated with a synthetic 100gm2 polyester throughout the body, sleeves, collar, etc., the jacket is also equipped with Gill's exclusive Vortex Hood. This suit features all of Gill's top tech including the insulated collar in the jacket, knee high zippers on the bib with double storm guard, YKK zippers throughout. The FG25 Jacket will carry with it an MSRP of $329 while the bibs will be $279.

This jacket and bib are packed with Gill tech.

Not the least of which is the Vortex Hood.

The FG24 is an insulated jacket for less extreme conditions.

FG24 Jacket: Gill's new FG24 jacket is a relatively lightweight, waterproof garment that can be worn as a mid or top layer. Unique for this mid-layer garment is its form fitting hood, but that speaks to its versatility. It has a thin layer of synthetic insulation throughout and is equipped with the afore mentioned 2-way adjustable hood, adjustable water tight cuffs, and a draw cord hem located inside the pockets. MSRP on this jacket is $199.

It features a less tech heavy, but still very form fitting hood.

Jerry Richards once again shows us what's new and warm with Gill.

Conclusion: It was difficult to think of the weather ever turning cold and rainy during out stay in Orlando, FL, but we all know that winter is coming. While this is a suit that would do little to protect John Snow from the White Walkers, fortunately, all we fishermen have to deal with in the absolute worse conditions are gale force winds and driving rain. Gill is all about protection from the elements and this year, they're ready to keep you warm at the same time.
