Introduction:
Fresh out of Jackson, New Jersey is a new soft bait company offering an assortment of baits made of a neutral buoyancy plastic infused with a special blend of crawdad scents and salt formulated to not only entice the fish into biting, but to make them hold the baits longer giving you more time to set and land them.

PowerTeam lures, owned by husband and wife team Bob and Katie Bernotsky, debuted at this year’s ICAST with a full catalog of new soft bait products the shining star of which is their Diesel Craw.

PowerTeam's Diesel Craw.

The Diesel Craw is a 4” crawdad like bait featuring a soft plastic skirt on the tail end, and grooves on the belly designed to catch air every time the bait is out of the water so when you flip the Diesel Craw back into a spot, bubbles release giving the bait a lifelike appearance. The Diesel Craw will come in packs of 6 for a retail price that is still to be determined.

The ridges on the bottom hold air as the bait is dropped in the water.

The 10" Ribbon Tail worm has a very unique action.

The 10” RibbonHinge worm features soft swimbait like joints, or hinges in the tail giving the bait an unpredictable action in the water. Fished in current, the tail of this bait is designed to float up and swim around like a real worm. The RibbonHinge worms comes in 10 colors and sells in packs of eight for an MSRP of $4.49.

The Texas Rig Jig is essentially a creature bait ...

... or a Hula Grub on steroids.

The Texas Rig Jig is essentially a creature bait with a more craw like profile than a standard creature bait. Just like a hula grub, the Texas Rig Jig is designed to give you a jig like profile in the water with the flexibility of rigging on a jighead or with a bullet weight. It is available in two sizes, 3.5” and 4.5”, and comes in packs of six for $6 - $6.50.

Conclusion: Currently, the only place to order PowerTeam lures is direct from the company’s website. Judging by the activity at their booth when we visited them at ICAST, distribution should pick up very shortly. Look for PowerTeam lures to begin showing up at your favorite tackle store this fall.
