New and improved baitcast and spinning reels by Quantum (continued)

Code RED:
Here we'll take a look at a reel that's not in the Performance Tuned series. The
latest entry to their line up of high-performing valued reels is the Quantum
Code Red. This low profile baitcast reel actually incorporates the good old
flipping switch that we are accustomed to on the old Accurist baitcast reels,
which has been discontinued for 2009.

of the Code Red
In addition the Code Red,
taking on the profile of last year's Code reel, has 10 ball bearings, clicking
drag star, and two gear ratios, 7.0:1 and 6.3:1. The Code Red will retail for
only $99 and will be available in late Fall.

Though the
Code Red isn't in the PT series it has features of a high performing reel
Walleye Grade:
Walleye anglers who troll or bounce the bottom at times were always disengaging
the clutch to let out more line to keep the bait at the strike zone. Well, that
took a lot of engaging and disengaging. Quantum introduces the Walleye Grade
baitcast reel that has a trolling switch. This switch is the same as the one on
the Code Red. When turned on you can press the thumb bar down to let minimal
line out but release it and it'll automatically engage itself. This took one
less step for Walleye anglers to adjust their line when trolling or bouncing the
bottom.

PT spinning:
Thin is in for not only baitcast reels but also for spinning as well, and this
year Quantum redesigns the entire PT spinning lines. First with the Tour Edition
PT, which actually has the least redesigns since it was just introduced last
season.
