Location: Las Vegas, NV
Admission: Buyers & Press only

Introduction:
On day one of the show all the buyers and media, including our staff here at TackleTour judge products based on their levels of innovation, execution, workmanship and practicality to select "Best of Show" honors in 17 categories, as well as the overall best of show winner. This year a total of 180 companies entered products into the competition. The votes are in for the 50th annual ICAST and the man with the golden touch proved once again that when it comes to rod innovation he is the one to beat. Ken Whiting, formerly of Airrus rods, helps power newcomer E21 into the limelight with a sweep of the rod categories and taking home top honors with the "Overall Best of Show."

Whatever company Ken Whiting knows how to make a "winning" rod

Stay tuned for all the details in the rod coverage... but suffice to say there is plenty of interest in e21's new rods

The Carrot Stix is constructed using a revolutionary new composite material that is actually made from carrots. That's right, carrots! The nano bio-fibers of carrots exhibit numerous positive qualities of both graphite and glass

Bert's track system makes it easy to mount a variety of items including rod holders and electronics

Old Harbor Outfitters took home top honors in clothing with the clever shorts which have rings to attach the built in fighting harness

A true computer on the water, Lowrance's new sonar/chartplotter (LCX-38C HD) features SVGA graphics, a 16-bit TFT color fish finder and comes complete with a 30GB internal hard drive and ethernet expansion port for sonar graph sharing (retail $1,899)

Costa Del Mar wins with the configurable Man O' War shades

Berkley's new Pistol Grip is a new take on ergonomic fish lippers

Jeremy has a lot to smile about with a clean sweep for Shimano in the reel category

The Trinidad DC follows the footsteps of it's digital predecessors with a win

The redesigned Stradic was a big hit, and represents the entire line of redesigned new spinning lures from Shimano

When it comes to "premium lures" Mac Daddy's redefines the term

Remember the Rollo lure? Well its back with a whole new look and the same retractable steel leader that helps set the hooks when fish strike

Want to get your little girl into fishing? Outdoor Adventure Kids introduces a new girl's line in fishing rod combos. The products are completely lead free and come in pink and purple

The new Blue Fluorescent Hi-Vis glow makes it easy to see against the ice and snow

Always be ready. Pflueger's new PFLEX kit comes in a case for travel and can be configured for spin or fly fishing with ease (MSRP $99.95)

Gulp! Alive!, 400 times more scent than regular plastics

Ted Sakai of Shimano has created the ultimate tackle management system for kayak anglers

Double Dee's patent pending flashers actually counter spin in the water creating a unique look and sound and eliminates harmonic oscillation

Congratulations to all of this year's ICAST Winners. Stay tuned for our "Live" Rod Wars article...
