ICAST Coverage (Innovations) - Everything from clever new storage to
transforming watercrafts (continued)

Plano:
Last year Plano's FlipSider took home top honors and this year the company did
it again with the FlipSider Hybrid. Making use of the same FlipSider technology
the new bag features a two compartment design. On top a main flap exposes four
rows of 4 compartments. The FlipSider design makes it easy to get the lures in
and out quickly.

Hybrid Satchel
The bag also includes three 2-3500 StowAway
utility boxes and one 3543 waterproof spinnerbait stowaway. The entire bag
features waterproof zippers and the same burnt orange and black design as the
original.

FlipSider 3-Tray: Those anglers
looking for a more conventional hard tackle box design will like the new
FlipSider 3 tray. This box blends old school design with new Flipsider
technology.

The 3-Tray Flipsider box
The top of the box features easy access to baits via the FlipSider system. There
is also two spots for beers....um, I mean sodas. Open the latches on the side
and the box opens to reveal a traditional 3 tier tray system.

FlipSider compartment
To match the FlipSider line even this box features
copper molded plastic, that looks analogous to the burnt orange hybrid bag.

Open the box and there is plenty
of storage with the traditional trays
Z-Series Rod Case: Also new this year is a
rigid rod case that is great for travel. This case is 55.5" inches in length and
can hold 2 piece rods up to 6'6" in length.

The Z-Series features a hard outer
shell
The best thing about the Z-Series case is the
completely padded interior. The foam inside is shaped to hold your rods with
reels attached, and shields the entire rig from harm. The case is red/black, and
closes with rugged zippers.

Congratulations to the team at Plano for another
big win this year at ICAST. I remember the first time I ever went fishing, sure
enough it was with an old single-tray Plano box in hand. That box is still alive
today, and has been passed down to my own son. These boxes are built for a
lifetime, and with the new stylish FlipSider models we are likely to be passing
those on to plenty more generations of young anglers.
