Outdoor Pro Shop's BassJam 2009 (pt. 2)(continued)
Bass Patrol: Big baits may have garnered most of the initial attention at the show, but not to be shunned aside were a dizzying array of skirted bait products including jigs, spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, and jig heads. First up in this subcategory was BassPatrol where Jeff Huth showed us their new silicone skirt models featuring hand tied quality with heavier gauged Mustad 2x hooks. Available in four new colors, watermelon pumpkin craw, peanut butter & jelly, brown red craw, and green pumpkin brown, these jigs were on a show special price of $1.59 but are expected to retail for right around $2.49 after the show.

Kevkel: Gary Gill was on hand to display his array of skirted bait products including the 2007 TackleTour Innovation Award winning Louvered Leaf spinnerbait. Now available in Colorado and Tomahawk blade combinations, Gary tells us he’s been so busy filling orders at local tackle shops, he hasn’t had the bandwidth to carry the product to wider distribution. BassJam ’09 is the perfect venue for small manufacturers like Kevkel that sell just about everything they can produce.
2007 TT Innovation Award Winning Kevkel Baits was on hand.
Research Machine Development was also on hand in the Kevkel Booth displaying their Trailer Safety devices.
Relatively new is the company’s four bladed buzzbait. Four blades on a buzzbait’s prop provide for better flotation allowing the bait to be retrieved at lower speeds. It is a style that for some reason is no longer produced by other manufacturers, but Kevkel is bringing it back.
