Operation:
Not a lot of
explanation is required in terms of the operation of these transports. The bags
make use of a combination of zippers and Velcro dividers to organize all your
tackle. Two zippers on the outside secure the top flap securely shut. Once you
unzip the top you are greeted with a padded interior that is divided with an
assortment of Velcro inserts. You can use all the inserts for maximum reel
storage, or choose to use none of them if you want to provide more protection
for 3600 sized Plano boxes. The ability to customize each individual reel pocket
allows you to store and protect reels of just about any size.

Durability:
The Albackore Reel
Transport is built like a quality piece of luggage. While the frame isn’t rigid
it is very durable. Even when under a lot of pressure the sides of the reel
transport will not easily collapse, protecting your reels from being crushed.
While I wouldn’t check the reel transport into baggage when flying it will do a
great job protecting your reels if shoved into your luggage. Where the reel
transport really stands out is on charters where having a backup reel can make
the difference between having a great trip and having one cut short prematurely
due to reel failure. The Reel Transport can be stowed anywhere on the boat and
will protect your reels even if tossed around. When coming to and from charters
I would toss the bags into the back of my truck for the trip home. After a year of use we haven’t
encountered any problems with broken zippers or loose threads. The overall
construction of the Reel Transport is top notch and each will provide season
after season of protection.
