Introduction: It's about time to start roasting chestnuts over an open fire again as TackleTour goes retro in this year's Holiday Gift Guide. That's right, everyone's favorite TT Pinup Girl, Ms Casey, is back again and this time, she dresses the part to kick off the season of giving with recommended picks by our staff. So break out that Holiday spirit and let's have some fun.

Warning: Spoiler Alert, Video contains all Holiday Gift Guide Picks

Freshwater Spinning Reel: (Shimano Stradic CI4) Shimano kicks things off with their most exciting spinning reel introduction in the past few seasons. The "CI" stands for "Carbon Infusion" and the 4 refers to the number of electrons in the Carbon atom. Over one and a half times stronger than Shimano's normal graphite and more than 20% lighter as well, the advanced reinforced carbon fiber is used in the Stradic CI4 Frame, Sideplate and Rotor construction. This design provides added strength and reduces weight to help ensure all moving parts are in line and functioning smoothly. Because the reel does not use metal in the frame components the reinforced carbon fiber is also impervious to rust providing anglers with superior corrosion resistance.

The Stradic CI4 is designed for finesse applications and is currently available in only two sizes (1000 and 2500) which makes this reel an excellent spinning reel for bass and trout applications. Both sizes feature a 6.0:1 gear ratio and retail for $199.99 each. The Stradic CI4 is sure to please that special someone and is available now at Tackle Warehouse.

Freshwater Baitcasting Reel: (Shimano Core 50mg and Abu Garcia Revo Premier) When it came to the baitcasting category there are a lot of new standouts this year but two new reels in particular really get us itching to fish. These are the new Shimano Core 50Mg and the updated Abu Garcia Revo Premier.

We have a tie in baitcasting picks...

How do you make the Core series even better? Shimano manages to do exactly that by making the new 50mg smaller, lighter and even easier to palm. With the smallest profile in any Shimano reel the Shimano Core 50mg is designed for ultra light line finesse fishing.  Though small Shimano still manages to cram in HEG (High Efficiency Gearing) and a blazing fast 7.1:1 gear ratio. The Core 50mg weighs in at a very light 5.5oz. and retails for $369.99. The Core 50mg is available at Tackle Warehouse.

For 90 dollars less than the Shimano Core 50mg anglers can still enjoy ultra-light performance in a aluminum package with the Revo Premier from Abu Garcia. New for this season the team at Abu Garcia has souped up the Premier with three additional bearings and further improved the Carbon Matrix Drag system. The Premier also offers a wide range of cast control with a combination of both a centrifugal and linear magnetic braking system. The reel also gets a little supertuning in the form of flat EVA knobs that were previously only found on import versions. The Revo Premier features a 6.4:1 gear ratio and weighs only 6.7oz, which is exceptional for an aluminum reel. The Revo Premier retails for $279.95 and can be found now at Tackle Warehouse.
