The Valiant can be considered the first of Accurate’s “New Technology,” reels, and features an innovative design that minimizes size and weight while maximizing strength, durability and fish-fighting power. Built with shallow-water jigging in mind, the BV-300 is also ideal for a wide range of applications including live-bait coastal fishing, snapper fishing around reefs, jigging for silver salmon, or targeting school-sized tuna, yellowtail and dorado.

Accurate's newest reel is the aggressively styled Boss "Valiant" BV-300, which is designed for everything from shallow water jigging to school sized tuna and yellowtail... perfect for this year's El Niño

The unique curvature of the BV-300’s rugged 6061 T6 aircraft aluminum body gives this compact, extremely lightweight reel the structural integrity of models twice its size. Accurate states that it based the BV-300’s design on the original premise of the “Roman Arches or Domes used in early architecture,” with the goal of creating a significantly stronger reel that utilizes less material. While the BV-300’s walls are actually thinner, its non-flexing frame and side plate enable it to withstand more stress than similarly sized reels. The BV-300 weighs in at just 9.9 ounces, yet it’s capable of taking on surprisingly large saltwater adversaries.

The Valiant BV-300 features a slick machined handle knob and offset handle for more winding leverage

Another one of Accurate’s priorities in the Valiant’s design was to find a way to fit the drive train of a bigger reel into the BV-300’s small profile. They were able to accomplish that with the new design layout and also include a deeper, wider spool than competing in its class. The guts of the new reel utilize ultra-strong, high-precision stainless steel gears, and 9 ABEC 5 class ball bearings. Anglers are able to leverage the Valiant’s brisk 6:1 gear ratio with a comfortable machined power handle.

Though it has a small footprint Accurate was able to squeeze in a sizeable drive-train into this mighty little reel

Finally, the Valiant also incorporates a new Accurate feature, an easy-find “Cam Stop” at strike. Instead of having buttons at free spool and strike, the BV-300 has a secure indent in the Drag Cam that stops the drag lever before going into full. This useful feature provides anglers with a fail-safe during the heat of battle, preventing the angler from going too far into full drag. The Valiant looks like a pretty hot reel, especially with the red anodized highlights, and is designed to offer anglers a fun to fish single speed reel that gets right on the hairy edge of what anglers would normally expect from a two-speed reel.
