Introduction:
One of the fringe benefits of working for TackleTour is learning about products long before they are released. Part of the huge responsibility of being a member of Team TackleTour is keeping information like this confidential. There are few tasks more difficult in the fishing industry than trying to keep the wraps on a new product.

John Crews shows us the prototype at Lake Lanier, GA

Earlier this year, I got to spend some time with our good friend John Crews, B.A.S.S. Elite Series Pro. Crews is best known for cranking and he is the man behind Spro's Little John crankbait, one of Zander's favorite cranks. He shared with us at that time, he and Spro's plans for a new crank in his Little John series, the Spro Little John Baby DD.

We had the opportunity earlier this year, to fish with Crews out on Lake Lanier, GA.

It was here we got our first peak at the Spro Little John Baby DD.

It's designed to fit right between the DD and original Little John in size and running depth.

Although its bill (middle) is very close in size to the DD (right).

Crews throws the Little John Baby DD on his Pinnacle Perfecta cranking stick.

Along with a Pinnacle casting reel spooled with 12lb fc.

Spro Little John Baby DD: The new Baby DD is a smaller version of the standard deep diving Little John and comes standard with #3 Gamakatsu hooks and is designed to run 9-12 feet on 12lb fluorocarbon. It will come in 7 different finishes and will run $11.99.

The production models are finally ready

At ICAST 2011, we were able to see the full production models of this bait.

Along with the 7 standard colors.

Looks to us like Crews has another winner on his hands.
