ICAST 2011 Coverage

ICAST 2011 : New Cranks, Jerks, and Pops from Damiki

Date: 7/20/11
Location: Las Vegas, NV
Admission: Buyers & Press Only
Manufacturer: Damiki
Reviewer: Cal

Introduction:
Damiki not only has a host of new soft bait introductions for 2011, but they have a few key hardbaits as well including a new topwater, jerkbait, crank, and lipless crank. Bryan Thrift takes us through the lineup.

D-Pop 70: The new D-Pop 70 pops like a popper but walks like a cigar bait. It comes with Viper hooks, a hand tied feather rear treble, and rattles so not only does it spit and walk, but it makes noise as well!

DC400: Thrown on 10-12 pound fluorocarbon, the DC400 will reach depths up to 16-18 feet and is built to back out of brush and grass areas when hung up. It has a wide wobbling action when retrieved fast or slow, and an interior balance transfer system for long casts.

Introducing Damiki's finesse jerkbait, the Tokan Minnow 90.

Tokan Minnow 90: The Tokan Minnow 90 is a finesse jerkbait with subtle action down to two to three feet of depth. Designed for cold water or pressure situation bassin' Thrift recommends throwing it on 10 to 12 pound test line.

Conclusion: Damiki solidifies their bait and terminal tackle offerings with some pretty interesting new product for 2012. Throw in a limited edition, signature series stick and it's not difficult to see their concentration is on offering premium product for a value oriented price. We look forward to putting a few of these new baits and terminal tackle to the test in 2012.
