Green is the New Black – 13 Fishing’s New Fate Rod Series

Date: 7/12/17
Location: Orlando, FL
Admission: Buyers & Press Only
Manufacturer: 13 Fishing
Reviewer: Zander

Introduction: The new Fate Black Series is not so black after all, and instead features an unmistakable matte green finish that is sure to grab the attention of anglers both in tackle shops and on the water. Built from the ground up the new line of rods is designed to deliver a lot more performance than anglers would expect at the 100 dollar price point.

The first thing you notice about the new Fate Black rods? They are Green... very Green

Green is the New Black: First things first, why is this series even called the Fate Black?

Fortune favors the bold and once again 13 Fishing is breaking, no, obliterating the mold. The new lineup screams for attention and within those matte green rods are Japanese 30 Ton blanks with low resin construction for a light and responsive feel.

Reels are held in place with the company’s own Evolve Seamless Reel Seats which provide plenty of access to the blank.

The 3A Portuguese cork grips on the reel are clean, and split grip design provide even more visibility to the rod’s signature Hulk-like finish. Hardware is courtesy of the company’s tangle free guides and finished with zirconium inserts.

Pro Angler Dave Lefebre and Jose Chavez from 13 Fishing show us the complete line of new Fate Green.... I mean Fate Black rods. These rods definitely will be easy to spot on the water

There are a total of 14 rods in the new Fate lineup, 9 casting rods and 5 spinning rods, and all feature fast actions.

These new rods are all 99 dollars each and pair nicely with the company’s new and affordable One3 baitcasters and enable anglers to put together a quality outfit for under what most decent baitcasters cost by themselves!

Perhaps the best feature of all with these new rods is the amazing price point. Maybe green is the new black? Anglers will soon get to decide. Show attendees already have as the series took home Best of Show this afternoon in the rod catagory!
