Introduction:
A little over a month ago,
we brought you the first peak into Daiwa’s 2009 product catalog with a look at
their 50th Anniversary Hyper-Speed Zillion and the new, high speed
Steez baitcasting reel. Not long after did we got our first up close and personal
look at these reels at this year’s ICAST, but we got to see what else is brewing
in Daiwa’s 2009 lineup including the long awaited Steez cranking sticks and the
unexpected Zillion and Fuego fishing rods!

Introducing
the 50th Anniversary Daiwa Zillion Hyper Speed

The Limited
Edition Daiwa Zillion Hyper Speed Zillion is a racy cherry red…

…and is the
first, super high speed 7.3:1 gear ratio low profile reel to hit the market
This mark’s Daiwa’s 50th
Anniversary in the US fishing tackle industry and they have chosen to celebrate
this momentous occasion with a Special Edition reel designed for the US Market.
We’ve already previewed this Hyper-Speed Zillion but here are some live shots of
this cherry red reel that’s due out before the end of this summer (MSRP $299).

Introducing
the long awaited Zillion 4.9

Known in Japan
as the Crazy Cranker, this is the reel low speed Enthusiasts have been wanting
for over a year and a half

Look for its
debut before the end of summer 2008
But that’s not all for the
Zillion line of baitcasting reels. Enthusiast tackle advocates have known about
it since the reel’s introduction into the Japanese market nearly a year and a
half ago, and have been clamoring for its introduction to the US market since
that time. By September 2008, they will get their wish. Daiwa is bringing over
the 4.9:1 gear ratio Crazy Cranking Zillion to the US market but without the fun
nickname. This new for the US cranking reel will simply be known as the TD
Zillion 4.9 or TDZLN100PA/100PLA and will retail for an MSRP of $269.95.

It’s all about
speed at Daiwa this year as is evidenced by the new high speed Steez!
